Tulsa Lawn Care July Update & Big Thank You to Our Customers

Posted by Kathy Wilder on Thu, Jul 03, 2014 @ 05:16 PM

I’d like to take a moment to thank all of our loyal, valuable customers!  GreenGrass has been growing, and we have all of you to thank for that!  We appreciate the trust you have placed in us, and we appreciate your patience while we get your weeds taken care of.

Please remember that if you see any problems in your lawn, service calls are free to program customers.  Just give us a call, or put in a service call online.

It’s July!  And it’s hot!  But the good news is, we haven’t had to water our lawns, thanks to sufficient rain, and we don’t seem to be heading into a drought…yet!

Seriously, I have not turned on the sprinklers on my lawn this year at all.  The flowerbeds, yes...but not the lawn.  That’s practically unheard of in July in Oklahoma!  But I’ll take it!   However, if our good fortune should come to an end, remember your lawn needs at least an inch of water per week.  (See our page How to Water Your Lawn.)

With all the rain, everything is flourishing!  That’s great for our lawns and landscapes, but a word of caution if you’re going to the lake or camping this holiday.  Watch out for poison ivy! (Or poison oak or poison sumac.) If you think you may have come in contact with it, rinse the affected area with lots of cold water, not hot water which will spread it!  And don’t rub it!  For detailed info and additional resources, see our previous blog on poison ivy.  You might want to take the Poison Ivy Quiz to see it you can recognize it!

Have a wonderful Independence Day, and be safe!
